Vintage Radios - From the Pages of Radio Digest Illustrated

This 160 page book covers Connections, Operation and Trouble Shooting for 79 Sets from the "Radio Receiving Sets"  Series and the "Operating and Trouble Shooting" Series. Originally published in Radio Digest Illustrated magazine between April 1922 and February 1926.

  • 79 Radio Articles from the early, 1920s weekly, Radio Digest Illustrated.
  • How to connect batteries, antenna, ground, loudspeaker, headphones, etc.
  • Panel controls, how to tune in stations.
  • Circuit diagrams, and explanation of circuit operation and vacuum tube selection for some sets.
This book is a valuable compilation of " instruction sheets" for dozens of early battery sets. Originally for the 1920s radio enthusiast, many of these sets might be in your collection today!

The original issues of Radio Digest Illustrated magazine were printed on newsprint paper and didn't stand up to passing of time. Therefore the text was totally retyped and enlarged from 7 point to 10 point type! Many of the photographs were digitally remastered!

The paper stock in this book is 85 pound coated stock!

Read just some of the reviews:

"Don't miss out on the ultimate resource for vintage radio collectors. A must-have for every radio collector's bookshelf." - John Jenkins, President & CEO SPARK Museum of Electrical Invention

"Vintage Radios gives new insights into old radios. Radio collector and historian John Terrey has reproduced in a convenient format all of the feature articles entitled "Radio Receiving Sets and Operating & Trouble Shooting" from the pages of Radio Digest Illustrated. This liberally illustrated book will be a great addition to the library of any radio collector." - Eric Wenaas, radio historian and book reviewer for the AWA Journal and the IEEE Technology and Society magazine

"Vintage Radios contains a wealth of information on the 1920s battery sets. What I enjoyed the most was the comparing the hook up, antenna requirements, tuning and battery management descriptions of the 79 1920s radios covered in the book." - Howard Stone, Vintage Radio Collector, Author: StoneVintageRadio.com
